I work for a large retail chain and I am being forced to work 9 days in a row is that legal? i asked my manager if i could have a day off on my 7th day of working and he said that the schedule was posted 5 days ago and its not his fault i didn't bring it to a managers attention before , so basically im being forced to work 9 days straight, plus im 6 months pregnant is this legal?

Yes, it is legal. Neither Federal nor Utah law requires days off at any time. You could legally be asked to work 365 days a year.

Only in a negative sense. The law does not provide for what an employer MAY do; it dictates what it MUST do or MUST NOT do.

An employer MAY require that an employee work 7 days a week. The law neither requires it nor forbids it. Therefore, there is no law addressing the situation at all and the employer may make his own decision.

It's not that I can show you a law that gives an employer permission to work you 7 days a week. It's that you cannot show me a law that prohibits it.
