I have been with my company for about 3 years. I found out I was Pregnant and told my job. I was sick sometimes and I would have to eat some crackers to feel better. I work at the front desk of a busy hotel and it is stressful. I spoke to my manager and told her what can happen sometimes. It was fine. asked to step away if I felt sick and she said it was ok. A few times this happen and she would get upset with me because I was in the back eating a cracker(which would take less than a minute). Everyone that works with takes cigarette break, including her for about 10 min leaving me alone at the front desk. I went to human resources and talked about what happen. First I was told that they didn't want the other employes to think I was getting special treatment and second she brought up the other times I was sick(which I had dr notes). I am now having complications and might not be able to have my baby. I was stressed out by this job because I am not rich so I had to work and they was giving me a hard time about being pregnant. Do I have a case against them

When you left the desk because you weren't feeling well, were you leaving it completely unstaffed?

Also, how often were these breaks where you needed to step away?

No I did not leave the desk unstaffed. I always waited until it was quiet and when there was another person there. I would ask the other person if it was ok if I ate a cracker really quick. I did not take alot of breaks. I would say maybe two and they were less than a minute. I brought food from home so I would not have to go to the caferteria.
