My son was taken from me by CPS in 2000. I have no parental rights but am still considered the father and pay child support and medical benefits. The guardians will not let me visit and I was told that I cannot give up my parental rights unless my son is adopted. I do not believe this will happen since the foster family receives money. Why can this be allowed?

Did a court order state specifically that your parental rights have been terminated?
If not, you should be able to file for visitation rights.
