I am preparing to take a landlord and a roommate to small claims court, under two separate lawsuits.
I have asked the landlord to help me in my case against my roommate by testifying or signing a written statement, but unfortunately, he has already found out about my suit against him, so he is choosing not to help.
However, many of the things I would need him to verify, he will probably be saying in his own defense in my lawsuit against him.
Unfortunately, as I understand it, there is no official transcript of small claims court proceedings. Is there any way to get a record of what a defendant states in small claims court so that it will hold up as evidence in another small claims suit?
Thanks in advance.
