I have just been notified that I would not receive my final pay until files were found that they can not find. The employer insists that I was responsible for those files. Basically accusing me of taking them in words. Is this legal??
Please help. My family needs the money.

DOL is perfectly clear that an employer may not punish an employee by withholding pay. Unfortunately Florida has no statute on when terminal pay checks are due to an employee. Your recourse is to seek advice from DOL or file civil action to recoup delinquent wages. Good luck!
