I was terminated today - reason give was cut backs. I was the only accounts payable person. The person that terminated me has a very long history of terminated people he does not like. Does the complany have to provide my final check at the time of termination? How can I tell if this was discrimination of some sort. If another person is hired to do the payables can I dispute the termination?

In PA your final check may be processed via the course of the next scheduled pay date. It does not have to issued immediately.
Also in PA employment is "at-will". This means that either the employer or employee may end the employment relationship at any time for any or no reason at all. Unless you are employed under an enforceable employment contract or collective bargaining agreement which spell out the terms and conditions of employment, your termination is legal.
Based on the reason provided, I think you have a fair chance of receiving UC benefits should you decide to apply.
Discrimination occurs when you are treated differently because of membership to a protected class (i.e. race, religion, national origin, etc.). You have not mentioned anything that would constitute as discrimination. For a more indepth description, you can visit www.eeoc.gov/ (http://www.eeoc.gov/) online. This will give you the full rundown on what constitutes illegal discrimination.
