Need some advice. I posted a couple of months ago about our slumlords(husband's parents). We went to court and agreed we would leave, we did not want to have anything more to do with these people. My husband and I were doing most of the work ourselves, using only our 2 caravans. We made MANY trips back & forth. We were unable to get everything at once. My husband did not want to have to go back into the house to get anything, so he put whatever was left out in the yard and was still going back and forth after work. His brother told him at about 11 am on Thursday that his parents were willing to give him time to get the rest of our things (most of them were too big to fit more than one thing at a time). At about 5:45pm, my husband went to retrieve some stuff to find everything had been thrown into a dumpster and discarded (they had started filling it again). My husband's van seats, our son's car bed, about 1/2 of the kids toys & toy box, our kitchen table, all of our end tables, 2 desks, a sofa, a loveseat & chair, a small refridgerator, and numerous odds & ends. What should we do? I know this is not legal, but how illegal is it? The items lost will cost between $3500-4500 to replace! Money we don't have!!
