I got a few questions that maybe someone can answer.

1) If a "plant" lets one of its employees make a lateral transfer to another opening within the company that is the same job title but just at a differnt location. Then a few months later a different individual applies for another lateral transfer and the management at the other position really wants him but his application gets pulled by his local management and they tell him they cant afford to lose him. Is this O.K.?

2) Can a company offer a company vehicle to employees with more years of service and no one else even if everyone has the same job title?

1.) Yes. It is up to the company how to utilize their employees. The fact that one employee was allowed a transfer does not obligate them to unilaterally allow each and every other transfer that is requested.

2.) Yes. It is a myth that all employees have to receive exactly the same benefits. If they want to offer a special benefit based on years of service that is perfectly okay.
