I am a 1099 employee, straight commission only. Currently we close our pay periods at the end of the month, but we don't get paid our commission until the end of the next month. I have been told by some in the auto car industry that company's only have ten days to pay commission employees.

I've never heard of that, but then, that isn't my industry. "1099 employee" is a contradiction in terms, however. I'm assuming, by your subject line, you are getting a 1099-MISC at year-end and that taxes are not withheld from your checks? What exactly do you do?
