I'm a 100% commissioned sales person working in the services business. My commissions are based on consultants working. They are on long term projects and I get commissions for every hour they work. In our contract it says, if I leave I will earn commissions for up to 30 days of my notice date. Being this is an annuity business and these consultants could be there for years, what am I entitled to ask as a lump sum being that this could run in the high 5 figures or more.

I can't believe the commission agreement doesn't limit the time period. Certainly the employer couldn't mean to keep paying commissions to long terminated employees in perpetuity.

If you think your contract really says this, then you need to talk to a lawyer.
