I have worked for a government agency in NYC for almost a decade. I was offered a new job and provided my employer with three weeks notice. I have paid vacation I am entitled to that I was scheduled to for two weeks after my resignation.

I am now told that I will be paid for my vacation but that I have to pick up my own health care coverage during my vacation period. It is my understanding that in NY, an employer must extend health care coverage for 30 days after the employee is off of payroll. Can anyone offer any further info on where I should turn?
