Thanks for the info and like I said before, my manager told me that, my manager from walgreens said they couldn't, but I figured it was legal. I'm just waiting for college so I can become an artist and have my hair in peace. Again, thanks for the info.

By definition, "discrimination" occurs when you are treated differently as a result of being a member of a protected class. Examples of a protected class are race, religion, sex and national origin. There are other examples but they do not include facial piercings and hairstyles. It's my understanding that it's ok to have a policy that limits appearance to a "conservative" standard. In my opinion the request of the employer is not unreasonable. I am not saying that you do not have the right to have a mohawk. I'm just saying that you could be disciplined (including termination) for not complying with the employer's appearance and dress code standards. You'll need to decide if you are willing to comply. If not, you may be out of a job.

I'd also like to reiterate that it is not generally considered wise to include the name of your employer in the post.

Hairstyle and facial piercings are only protected under the law if they are religiously based.
