I'm trying to find out as much information as I can about California law regarding Direct Deposit and Direct Deposit Recalls. Once a deposit is made how long does an employer have to do a recall? How long after I leave a company do they have access to my account? Any information about Direct Deposit would be helpful.

Thanks,

Paul H

I could not find a conclusive answer to your question. The attached link provides details of return types allowed by NACHA.

Generally speaking, I have been able to perform a recall up to 5 business days after post date. Post date is often the same as pay date. This answer may vary depending on the banking institution. Just because a reversal request is issued does not guarantee that the bank will honor it.
