I was recently fired for smoking a cigarrette outside of my work. I was mainly fired only for leaving the salon unnattented. The owner had me sign a piece of paper stating this and that was all I had read b/c I was so furious. As I read down the page, she had written a whole paragraph completley slandering my character. Since then she has gone to my other work place that is in the same complex and talked about me to my other boss. My boss new about my termination before I did, as well as employess and most recently she has talked to him about me once more. I have tried going to the better business bureau about her and nothing can be done. I need help desperatley in how I can stop this woman from ruining my life and shut her down.

This was not a wrongful termination. It is not illegal to fire you for leaving the salon unattended. Nor is it illegal for others to have known about your termination before you did.

Whether or not you have any recourse with regards to the paper you signed is something we cannot address since we have not read it. What most people consider to be libel or slander is not. In addition, you do not appear to have suffered any damages specifically because of what she wrote, and damages is key to a libel suit. You would have to have an attorney in your state review the document to tell you if you have any recourse.
