hi my names billy this is my story and I need some info I got this job through a local add saying supervisors and laborers wanted. I started working as a landscaper with illegal aliens. I am not a racist person but I would have been happier if I was beng trained by someone who spoke english or could have tried to explian things by showing me how. I went along still owrking though. let me describe my boss he is a weed smoker and he yells in situations that could be handled by a simple hey you messed up lets try this again. he screems when the smallest things happen but when the illegal aliens mess something up he talks in a nice polite voice. he kept wanting me to be a supervisor but I dont have a colo drivers liscence. I never asked what the other laborers where making but there living in the shop which is a house one block away from the biggest street in colorado. well dave started giving me less hours which didnt bug me at first becuase it was getting slow. But bissness picked up and I was at leaste one of the top 8 senority laborers and he refused to send me on any long jobs and sent me to his apartments to clean up the ones he was responsible for giving me at most 5 hours a day which a landscaping job would give me at least 7. I approached my boss about it and he told me he doesnt make enouph to send me out there but I do a great job with the apartments which is sapose to be the training job for new laborers with no experience. I wanna know is that discrimination. and who do I get in touch with to get info about how to get this employer investigated for using illegal aliens

If the employees are illegally working, it would be reported to USCIS.

If you re being treated unfavorably because of your race or National Origin, then it is illegal. If this guy is just a jerk or just randomly picks favorites, it is not illegal. If report it internally, be sure to be claer on what basis you are alledging that you are being treated differently. If it is just that you aren't one of the favored employees, there is no legal duty to fix it, though most decent employers will try anyway. If it is on the basis of a legally protected characteristic, then they do.

If after reporting illegal discrimination you do not get relief, you may file a claim with the EEOC.
