Well ..here goes I hurt my back at Work multiple injections later they have put me at MMI...I performed the FEC test STATED I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO MY CURRENT LINE OF WORK ( I am 38 years old and have been in nursing for the last 13 years) The FEC put me at a 15 to 35lb weight restirction on lifting depending on the position. Limitation on standing sitting stooping bending ect...yadayada I have a spinal Lumbar injury.
I got my PPI rating from the doctor today...it is 5%
Does that sound right?

Do you have a lawyer? I'm going through the same except shoulder. I'm a nurse and restrictions are a little more stringent but about the same which means the same...can't work in field of floor nursing. I've given it to my lawyer and he's handling it. When it doesn't sound right, he questions it and gives me advice on what to do.

I know that this isn't much, but I do want you to know that you aren't the only one trying to find another career...or field in nursing. I'm 36 and going through the same. Hang in there!! :)

5% sounds a tad low but not outrageously so. Not knowing what you were capable of before it is hard to say. Most of the ones I see with similar restrictions are about that though, so it isn't unreasonable.

If you can't return to your former job, you should ask about voc rehab.
