gordamachi 07-21-2006, 07:33 PM Does child support stop when the child is 18-19 years old? mommyof4 07-22-2006, 06:09 AM www.deltabravo.net (http://www.deltabravo.net/) www.supportguidelines.com (http://www.supportguidelines.com/) In Arizona, child support emancipation occurs on the last day of the month the child turns 18 or, if the child is still in HS, upon graduation or the last day of the month the child turns 19. So, kid turns 18 on May 1. Support obligation ends on May 31. Kid is still in HS, but tuns 19 on March 1, support obligation ends on March 31. Kid is still in HS, but turns 19 on July 1, support obligation ends when child graduates from school. Of course, if you owe arrearages, you will continue to pay support until your debt is paid in full, regardless of support emancipation guidelines. gordamachi 07-22-2006, 09:50 AM Thank you Mommy of4 gordamachi 07-22-2006, 10:12 AM My cousin has a dughter and she wants to take her boyfriend to court for child support but she has heard stories about when they take all of the gentlemens money and they have nothing to live on, I have heard that they (child support) remove money from the 40hours that they work, the overtime is untouchable. My neighbors has told me this, but I'm not sure if I want to repeat them if it's not correct. My cousin dated this guy then they broke up he was seeing someone else and then they got married.( it's a hill-billy of a story :D ) and paternity has been verified? I don't know how to say it. So he pays off and on.. He has another family.. I see him every now and then and tells me how money is tight with his own family. I just trying to see how long he has to pay and how much. and if what I'm hearing is correct. mommyof4 07-24-2006, 01:32 PM Okay, go to www.supportguidelines.com (http://www.supportguidelines.com/) and click on Main. Then go to online child support guiedelines. (embedded in the paragraph) Click on Arizona. Click on Arizona child support guidelines. Once that page comes up, click on open child support guidelines. Scroll down to section 5 determination of gross income. And, there are all of your answers in plain English. (no unintelligible legal language). I know that this seems like a lot of steps, but I am getting you to the exact answer for your question. |
