What are the California laws for breaks for 4, 6 and 8 hour shifts?

California law requires paid rest breaks of at least 10 minutes for every 4 hours worked (or major portion thereof) and 30 minutes if the employee works 6 hours in the day or more. There are some exceptions, though.
