It isn't illegal for your employer to fire you even without proof. When it comes to he said/ she said situations,it ts almost impossible to know who is lying. Your employer is not a court of law and they aren't detectives, so it is legal to fire you for suspicion of theft. It was also the proper thing to do to let the police handle it as far as the charges and investigation go.

you have a case, need to located you an attorney. There are not many attorney in MS that handle Employment wrongfully terminated cases, and yes MS have an AT Will clause but it does not apply to harassement and that is what happen to you, please pursue this case

This is not harassment as the law defines it. If the company suspects anyone of theft, be it an employee or customer or random passerby, then they have the right to turn it over to the police to handle. The company absolutely can fire when they suspect theft, even if a police investigation is inconclusive or later clears you.

There's nothing you can do. Your employer in well within their rights to fire you for any reason they see fit. It's not like you were wrongly convicted of a crime. You were fired for suspicion of theft. Just let it go.

Help you do what? You were not wrongfully terminated. Your name does not need to be cleared if the police did not find evidence that you stole the money. Find another job.
