Is there a law about forced overtime in NC? Iam already working 57.5 hours in five days and now they want to raise it to 62.5 in six days is this legal ? Can I refuse and not be fired?

Yes, it is legal and no, you cannot refuse without risking being fired.

Mandatory overtime is legal in all 50 states. Only Maine puts a limit on the number of hours that can be required in a pay period and only California gives an employee the right to refuse overtime without penalty (and even in CA, 62.5 hours is not enough for you to have that protection - not until 72 hours).
