My ex and I separated in June in which I have e-mails stating he would pay at least $818 a month for 2 kids. This is still way below the amount required by the state because with his bonuses and overtime he makes about 65,000 a year, he has only given me $250.00 since May 19th and I am really struggling to take care of our 2 children. I couldn't get a court date for a temporary order until August 10th. My lawyer will be requesting child support back until June 1. How likely will the judge allow retroactive support? How will the amount be determined? I have had custody of our 2 children since May 29th.

you are likely to get support back to the date of filing...so if your lawyer filed for it June 1, then that is like the start date for support when it's awarded.

He actually filled on June 16th, would I get a pro-rated amount for June?
