How much ernest money is a seller expected to pay? Is there a percentage or does the amount depend on the realtor's company policy?

Hi Lance, there is no set rule. It is whatever the Buyer and Seller can agree upon. Real estate agents seem to think that there is a set amount or that it is accepted policy etc. Please see our web page on Earnest Money for further information.
