I have been working at this vet clinic for 1 month now. My boss closes for all major holidays and provides holiday pay for employees who have been there a minimum of 6 months. He asked me to work my 12 hour 5pm-5am shift the 4th of July ( I also worked July 3-4 5pm-5am). Are there any laws requiring an employer to pay employees extra time for holidays? :confused:

Nope. Not in this case. There are very few cases where working on a holiday entitles you to anything more than you would have gotten any other day. This is not one of them.
