Ok, So I started working for this company called(company name deleted by moderator) on June 19th (last month). The company "negotiates with credit card companies to lower interest rates". My job is to call people, make sure they owe $2500 or more to major credit cards, make sure they have interest rates of 10% or higher, and get them to give me a credit card number from one of there accounts as well as other personal information, verify with that credit cards bank that the customer has $800 or more still available, and then pass the customer to a "closer" who charges $690 to their account for our "services".
In other words, I believe the company is a scam... But thats not why I'm here...
On June 3rd, I went in to get my first check (they held back a week) It was supposed to be 3 sales at $50 a sale ($150 in total). It turned out to be $100, they tried to say I only had 2 sales.
Now I keep track of my sales and I have to keep that list in a binder I have to keep at my desk at work (as per company rules). I went to get my book to check my list, and conveniently, it was missing. I told them my book was missing, they said just start a new one. I told them they forgot to pay me for one, they asked for my list, I told them it was in the book that was stolen from my desk, and they said it was my fault, even though I am forced to keep it at my desk.
So after that I decided to work that week out and quit.
The paycheck I was supposed to be getting was from June 26 - 30... I made 5 sales that week ($250). When I started, I was forced to sign something saying my last paycheck would be withheld for 30 days, BUT this paycheck was from the week before my last, the confusing thing is I didnt make any sales my last week. So they told me they were holding my pay for 30 days. I told them I would be moving out of state and would not be able to pick it up. They told me it is illegal to mail it or have someone else pick it up.
Then I argued a bit, and they said they would mail it, and take the cost of overnight mail out of my pay. I felt like they said it to shut me up, so I asked for some kind of proof in writing that they would do that, they said NO, and told me to leave.
Now I know I will never see my last paycheck, or at least I am pretty sure. Is there ANYTHING at all I can do?
I am moving in 3 days out of state and REALLY need my paycheck, or at least a portion of it.
PLEASE HELP ME, advice would be sooooooo appreciated.
Thank You
