Debtors have a duty to appear and testify under oath and to be questioned by creditors pursuant to 11 U.S.C. §341 (a). This meeting is conducted by the trustee assigned to the case and is held approximately 40 days after the petition is filed. Failure to appear may result in the dismissal of the case. If a continuance or change in meeting date is required, the trustee assigned the case must be contacted. No motions for changing the date, time or location of the creditors meeting are to be filed with the court.
