i have just been recently fired from work bevause i was sick on july 4,2006 i called in the morning saying i would not be there but my manager gave me a rough time so i showed up anyway. I then got sick at work and asked the manager on duty if i could go home. When i reported to work on july 6,2006 i had found out i had been fired and given my last pay check. In CA dont you get two hours pay for reporting to work. I was never told i was fired till i reported to work and was handed my final check. Is this legal for firing me because i throwing up?

If the manager on duty let you go home, then it may be a different story,Im not sure, please wait for another senior member to answer these questions.
I don't have any idea about the check issue sorry!

Reporting time pay is half of your regular shift, but no less than 2hrs and no more than 4.
"At will" means you can be fired for throwing up or for not throwing up. It's not fair, nor shows much integrity, but not illegal.
