If you have biological evidence believed to be from the perpetrator of a crime and a DNA profile is developed, the profile will automatically be searched against the DNA database in Missouri and nationally. The sample will remain in the database and be continually searched against the growing database. If there is a hit against a convicted offender or another case, you will be contacted and provided with the offender’s name or the name of the investigator of the other case.
