To obtain a copy of the accident report for a Patrol investigated traffic crash, please provide us in a letter with the following data:
1. The date of the crash.
2. Location (highway and county) at which it occurred.
3. Name of the driver(s) (as appears on drivers license).
4. Vehicle or property owners and or injured parties.
Beginning August 28, 2004, the cost of a copy of a Patrol investigated traffic crash report is $4 per four-page report. Additional fees apply for copies of reconstructed accident reports, photographs, scale diagrams, videotape duplication, certified copies of reports, crash data retrieval (CRD) electronic information, computer disk (CD) copies, and electronic mapping data. Call the troop headquarters, from the jurisdiction were the accident was investigated, to get the actual cost for a copy of your report BEFORE sending any funds. You may call the Traffic Division at General Headquarters (573) 526-6113 if you are uncertain of the jurisdictional headquarters. Payment can be made by check or money order only (no cash) and must be made payable to: DPS - Missouri State Highway Patrol.
