Generally, doctors can only recover based on the agreements that they have with insurance companies. The question is whether this chiropractor has such an agreement with your auto insurance company. Such agreements are usually only in place in relation to the physician's agreement to accept certain health insurance plans.

If the insurance companies are willing to go to bat for you, you probably should let them.

If you disagree with how this individual conducts business, you can report him to whatever agency in your state licenses and regulates chiropractors.

Well in NJ a chiro will get paid $90 that's the max any PIP INs will pay, out of the $90 20% you are responsible for which is $18 and the chiro gets $72.00 anything after that its the law to write it off and they cannot bill you for. :)
