The county took over the handling of my Mother's estate and the county sold a house to a county employee for a major discount. The the county appointed executor fixed up the house using the estates money. I told her I had a buyer "as is" for the same amount she sold it to county employee for. The county executor insisted on using her no name friend to sell the house running up a huge fee for no reason. The executor made me give her $5,000 to pay the mortgage so the house wouldn't go into forclosure and she didn't do anything with the money instead she took out an expensive loan through another friend of hers. The county appointed executor then paid me back out of the estate. Everywhere you look things are inflated and seem only to be done to make the executor money. The county appointed lawyer and judge don't even seem to look at things and just rubber stamp them. I did not recieve any paperwork from the court as I am suppose to during the process. They sent all the paperwork for me to my Mother's house that passed away. My experience with probate in Ventura County is that it is a total rackett. What can I do?

Question that you are not answering is why you did not apply to be the estate executor. Is there a reason that the county was the executor? I have read stories about those on Medicaid in CA having homes taken over by the government for sale to pay back aid. Your post is missing some needed information.

The question is why didn't I become the executor.
My Mother worked for the Department of Health and Human Services for nine years and nine months.
One day in 1994 my brother got arrested and he called me instead of my Mom. As I was doing my best to take care of that and determine what happend, the detective contacted me, Det. Kenneth Adloff with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department. He said, I spoke with your Mother and your brother and they told me how you Dad molested you. I said your a lying, c**ks*cking, worthless, Nazi piece of sh*t my Mother knows nothing about this.
I am handling this because my Father died a few years ago. Kenneth Adloff said , are you going to tell your Mother? I said no we are adults,. and I don't want to upset her. She has been through alot with the earthquake and she works in L.A.; and thanks to you morons she got caught in the riot.
Det. Kenneth Adloff said, Well I am going to find her and if you think the riots and earthquake were bad you just wait. I tried to convince him and his partner with his hand on his gun not to do that.
A few days later he found my Mother at home. My Mother was old fashioned, she believe police officers. Det. Kenneth Adloff used that same line on her except took great pleasure in the pain it produced in her. He told her, "that I and my brother told him that we were molested by our Father and she knew it and she is in trouble too for not coming out and telling the police".
I went to my Mother's house later that day to find her on the floor of the living room. She asked me why didn't I tell her my Father molested me, she had no idea and never would have thought that would ever happen. I tried to tell her the truth, but I could see she wasn't sure. Why would the officer lie?
My Mother slowly went down hill from there. Eventually she developed Alzheimers type dementia. I took care of her for four years changing diapers, feeding her and bathing her. The Department of Health said she needed to work for the government 10 years to get benefits and social security said she worked for the government so they didn't have to pay.
After my Mother died in 2002 I was scared of the county. I was tired. I watched my Mother die thinking my Father molested me. I could not even think of doing anything with the people down at the county. I was afraid what they would do next. I just needed some time to gather my thoughts. It took until 2005 to do that.
To make a long story short I think they were mad at me for taking so long to handle the probate. My brother freash out of San Quinten had a pretty good lawyer almost got who almost got him to be executor, but I went to court to stop him and then Judge Lane spoke to me in a angry disrespectful manner and assigned a county appointed lawyer.
