Hi,

what is the law concernings breaks on the job? my husbands employer told them no more breaks on the clock that they have to punch out even to go to the bathroom. Can they do this? i thought if you worked an 8 hr day or more that you were entitled to a 30 min. lunch minium. and 2 - 15 min breaks and you got paid for the breaks.. thank you

if will give you a state by state break down on break and rest periord laws.

States not listed do not require paid rest periods. All of the seven States with paid rest period requirements, also have meal period requirements.

These laws do not apply to exemptions for executive, administrative and professional employees, and for outside salespersons.

Washington State---Although agricultural labor is excluded from the listed requirement of general application, a separate regulation requires a paid 10-minute rest period in each 4-hour period of agricultural employment.
