A bankruptcy case number consists of the year of filing, five additional digits, the division and the initial of the judge assigned to the case. Example: 97-06350-rjh7 is a case filed in 1997, followed by a five-digit case number, is assigned to the Honorable Russell J. Hill and is a chapter 7 case.
