Created in 1979, the bankruptcy code is the set of laws which govern bankruptcy proceedings in the United States. The bankruptcy code consists of bankruptcy chapters which provides help for businesses or persons in financial difficulty. Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies are the most commonly filed chapters.
