Since my company is in PA, but I have an office in NJ and live in NJ...will the company get in trouble if I want them to file my paycheck in NJ rather than PA?

How do I go about asking my employer for this?
If I'm due in March or April, how long do I have to pay into NJ SDI? I will have the adequate number of working hours, etc... Will I have to retro pay into NJ SDI since I started in Feb 2006?

I'm just trying not to create a major frenzy with the small company that I work for, and still try to get what I need disability wise.

Thanks!

Didn't you post this a few weeks ago?

And I think I responded before that, generally speaking, if you are working in NJ, they should have been deducting NJ taxes all along.

yes, I did post and got everyone's replies...and I understand that NJ taxes should be taken out, however the other person who works in NJ has never brought this up as an issue.

She's my boss and a VP...since PA taxes are recipricle with NJ, there isn't a problem when we file our income taxes.

So again, I'm just trying to educate myself as to what my employer has to do, and if it causes a problem, etc...for them. The fact that I'm considering starting a family is going to cause enough of a problem in "their" minds as it is...

Thanks for your help (again!)

You don't understand. SDI/SUI taxes are NOT reciprocable. Only income tax.
