Hi. i would like to know if a pregnant woman is allow to sit down at her job, in the state of MA. i have 1-2 weeks before i give birth, and i get really tiered of standing up. i have to work, and i am really responsible. is not like if i sit down all the time, but my maneger sometimes gives me an attitude, when he sees me sitting down. the only time when i sit down is when there is nothing else to do and no customers in the store. so i want to know if i have any legal rights regarding this. i would also like to know if i am soposed to be getting any type of payment from the company i work for, while i am on maternity leave. because i heard that the salary law changed, or something like that, and i want to make sure i dont miss out. if i do have any prego rights that will allow me to sit down, can you please send me a link where i can print out the paper and show it to my manager if he gives ma any more attitude. so that i can show him that i do have that legal right. thanks!

If you are looking for a specific law that give you the right to sit down at work, there isn't one. Nor is pregnancy considered a disability for which your employer is required to provide an accomodation.

It would be nice of your employer to allow you to sit down but the law does not require that he do so.
