I am pregnant and not covered under FMLA because I have not worked at the company for one year. Can I use Short Term Disability to cover my maternity leave? Also, my employer said that I will get a 30 day leave and if I do not return after the 30 days my employment will be terminated, can they do this? I work and live in WI.
Thanks

STD is not a form of leave. It's how you receive income while you are on leave. If you are not eligible for FMLA, the employer's obligation is to treat you no differently than any non-pregnant employee who is also not eligible for FMLA. If their policy for such non-FMLA absences is 30 days of leave, then you can be terminated after 30 days.
