Under a rock? Try to get out into the light of day.
This is more Gay/Lesbian activist propaganda. These people are all over the internet trying to create the perception that the public is clamoring for gay "marriage".

These two polls by two *different* polling firms were published in
this morning's newspapers the BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE *and* BOSTON SUNDAY
HERALD.

You did not need to go on the internet to read this, you could have
bought these newspapers at your local corner store (assuming there is
one near your rock) and found out the truth yourself.

Your "these people" is very revealing about YOUR perceptions.

The legal case in Baehr v Lewin, here in Hawaii did NOT propose any change
whatsoever in the law. The Hawaiian marriage statutes specified the
circumstances under which two PERSONS might marry with NO specification
as to gender assortment.

The State office (Lewin) refused to issue the
liscense to three same-gender couples, refused to
obey THE LAW AS WRITTEN.

This is the issue that went to court and the issue on which the state
lost its case, big time. The legislature made an end run around the
supreme court and called a vote on a proposed amendment to the constitution
-- THEY wish to change the law -- NOT the petitioners.
