A question for you all. I was in the state of GA visiting family and I just recvd my first speedig ticket EVER. It was for going 74 in a 55 in a small town in GA. The trooper was driving towards me and whipped around to pull us over.
Now I honestly felt that I wasn't going that fast and my wife says that when she looked at my dial it was more like 60 to 64.
The trooper did not notify me of any right to request a test on his radar (which was used according to the citation).
I'm a not a resident of GA but I don't want this ticket to increase my insurance. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a tact to take?
Does GA offer online traffic school?
I have a friend who suggested I call up the "court" and ask if I could pay more than the fine in order to get the ticket knocked down to a lesser violation. This sounds pretty strange to me, but once again ALL of this is new to me!
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
