My first post here:

Simple question: I could not find anything on KDOL FAQs... is there a state or federal mandate giving a mininum amount of hours between shifts?

For example: a person gets sheduled 2 pm to 11 pm, then has to come in at 7 am the next morning. This is an 8 hour gap. Or 1 pm to 10 pm, with the next shift 5 am to 2 pm, a 7 hour gap.

My manager has told me there is not company policy stating how far apart shifts should be.

Is this just a case of crappy treatment, yet totally legal? or otherwise?

No, there is no state or Federal law requiring any particular minimum time between shifts. In any state.

There are a very few industry specific exceptions where there is a public safety factor (airline pilot, truck driver, in some states nursing) but for the most part, an employer can schedule you for back to back shifts if they choose to.
