Anyone else amused by this?

http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/07/17/masturbate030717

US media doesn't seem to have picked up on this story yet, not
surprisingly. Maybe some of the braver outlets will get to it soon.

Yeah, well reading this article (not even between the lines) one has
to wonder:

a) how many people are honest about the frequency with which they
masturbate and

b) whether they've controlled for other factors which the group who
reported masturbating more frequently might have in common.

Still, it made me chuckle.

Perhaps fundamentalist Christians? Maybe strict Muslims?

Yah, I can just hear the nightly rituals of mothers all
over the world now. 'Now, remember our mnemonic device.
Periodic pud-pulling prevents prostrate problems.'

Herk. Herk. Sometimes I crack myself up.....

Please, "prostate" not "prostrate".

Sorry, I do know the correct spelling and pronounciation
of the word, it's just one of those 'my fingers got
ahead of my brain' sort of things. Kind of like every
time I go to type the word 'ever' and I don't pay
attention. I'll type it as 'every' instead of 'ever'
for some reason. :)

This happens to me with "hear" and "here." Somehow the path from my
thoughts to my fingers manages to elude the spelling center
occasionally. Only with common words though.

The lose/loose confusion seems ubiquitous on usenet. So many times I
want to tell people that if they don't want to lose stuff they should
tighten things down rather than "looseing."

(Sigh) My wife pronounces it prostrate, so I wonder if I'm just over-sensitive and excessively pedantic about stupid stuff like this. *OTHERWISE* yes, I found it amusing. _Finally_ someone got statistics to support the position of ex-Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders... (If Slick Willie had paid attention to
^^^^^^^^^^^^ her there'd've been a lot less in the way of scandal. One wonders if the Shrub is getting serviced by his wife or even himself, or maybe that's why he's so cranky...)

Has Clinton thought of licensing his nickname as a lube brand?

I'm wondering why you're wondering about people not being honest about
the frequency of their masturbation. Why would you think that one
would lie about that? Or is it a general distrust that you have of
people?
