Here's summaries of 2 articles out of CA today. I don't know which is
worse. As I've long suspected some hospitals are cooking the books, folding
in boarder babies with SH cases.

TORRANCE--Baby Jane SH at Little Company of Mary Hospital earlier this week
and now in foster care; no details released due to "privacy concerns."
According to Garrison Frost of First 5 LA, 33 babies have been SH in LA
County since law went into effect including 5 this year. At least 75 have
been SH state-wide. SH promoter, LA County Supervisor Don Knabe, says of
the SH process, "It seems like such a simple, little thing to do, but it's
such a struggle for these mothers to do this." After this catch he sent an
email to his staff, "Yay team!?"

According to Anne Homes Delforge, director of inpatient services. first
gave birth to Baby Doe at hospital with intent of leaving baby in hospital
custody. Second, mother, gave birth in hospital had no plan of what to do
with it, and after counseling decided to SH. Delforge says SH has "been a
good option. I think both of these scenarios it really did meet the intent
of the law.
