The story behind that classified ad plea
By Bill Wundram

..
IF you have been checking the classified ads in this newspaper for the past
month or so, the face of a smiling young man may have intrigued you. Classified
ads are mostly involved with selling cars or dining room sets or dogs, but this
fellow has been running his picture to find his mother.
..
“I’ve tried everything else, so I’m putting my picture in your
newspaper,” says Chad Savoure, who believes his birth mother — and possibly
a brother, too — may be living in the Quad-Cities.
..
Along with his picture, the classified ad says: “If I look like someone you
know, please call Chad at xxxxxxx”
..
Chad Savoure lives in Burnsville, Minn., about 350 miles north of the
Quad-Cities, near St. Paul. His plea and picture began appearing daily in the
QUAD-CITY TIMES on Jan. 14 and is still running.
..
“I’ve had a lot of hits trying to find my mom, and looking for a possible
brother. One caller thought there was a close match, but it didn’t work
out,” Chad said in a phone visit.
..
He has verified that he was born on Jan. 27, 1970, at St. Francis Medical
Center in Peoria, and was placed for adoption shortly after birth through
Catholic Social Services. Information about adoptions usually are confidential,
but Chad is determined to find his mother, who he believes may now be living in
the Quad-City area.
..
“I have learned that she was a lab technician and my father taught drafting
in school. I don’t know if they were married. I spent $300 for a search. My
birth mother was contacted when she was living in southern California. That was
in 1999, and she was not interested in making contact with me. Maybe she has
changed her mind since then.”
..
Chad is with Honeywell Global. His wife, LouAnn, is as interested as her
husband in locating his birth parents.
..
“I haven’t put my picture in any other newspaper except the Times. Maybe
this is a long shot, but I have an idea that my mom, and maybe my brother may
be around the Quad-Cities. We’ll see.”
..
He promises to let us know if he makes a connection. Stranger things have
happened.
