hi,
i currently live in mississippi and am 15 years old but turning 16 in november. my parents are very elderly and i do not get along to well with them.. i try to obey their rules and it just never makes them satisfied.they are too old to do any labor for themselves so they push me into doing all of it for no extra pay at all. i have a life to and have stuff i need to take care of. they make me go to church and i dont believe in thier religion, they are holding me back from living life and i don't want to watch the time fly by and regret it when im older knowing that i could have done something about it. i have multiple friends that i am certain would take me in and thier parents agree. can i move out of my parents house legally? i am a mature teen and can prove it. my grades are above average, i have a ful time job, i pay for everything i own other than my house, my food, and my schooling. I am not much of a trouble maker but i have had my bad experiences, what can i do? what are my options? if i am not legally allowed to move out, and i do it anyway, what action could my parents take against me or the people i would move in with and what are the chances that they would actually take legal action. i don't hate my parents, i just don't want to be held back from living life to the fullest and missing the best years of life. please help asap.. thank you

hi,
i currently live in mississippi and am 15 years old but turning 16 in november. my parents are very elderly and i do not get along to well with them.. i try to obey their rules and it just never makes them satisfied

this is normal between any teen and their parents

.they are too old to do any labor for themselves so they push me into doing all of it for no extra pay at all.

children should do chores-and parents aren't required to pay them ANYTHING, let alone extra!

i have a life to and have stuff i need to take care of.

at this point in time your life belongs to them

they make me go to church and i dont believe in thier religion,

it's their right to educate their child in their religion- the child has the right to not participate at 18

they are holding me back from living life

they are probably holding you back from making a whole lot of mistakes that a lot of adult wished their parents would have prevented them making

and i don't want to watch the time fly by and regret it when im older knowing that i could have done something about it.

what can you possibly do at age 15 that you cannot do at 18?

i have multiple friends that i am certain would take me in and thier parents agree. can i move out of my parents house legally?

no you cannot

i am a mature teen and can prove it.

everything you have said prior to this statement disproves this statement

my grades are above average, i have a ful time job, i pay for everything i own other than my house, my food, and my schooling.

do you have any idea how much money it takes to run a household? own a car? pay for health insurance?

I am not much of a trouble maker but i have had my bad experiences, what can i do?
wait until you are 18

what are my options?

you have 1 option, wait until you are 18

if i am not legally allowed to move out, and i do it anyway, what action could my parents take against me or the people i would move in with and what are the chances that they would actually take legal action.

they could have the police find you and bring you home, they could send you off to a military school, or juvenile deliquent school, or *gasp* a religious school, and they could press charges against the adults you choose to stay with for harboring a runaway and possibly more

idon't hate my parents, i just don't want to be held back from living life to the fullest and missing the best years of life. please help asap.. thank you

the best years of your life are not for another 5 to 10 years

Amen, Zephyr. :) OP, your post clearly illustrated why teenagers are required by law to remain under their parents' authority and control. You did not state one thing in your post that would qualify you for being eligible for emancipation, and it is not legal for you to just up and leave your home until you are 18. There is no gray area here. You are 15. Your life is school and what ever your parents deem to be appropriate for a young teenager.
