An old friend, back in touch through the wonders of the internet after many
years, recollected what he believed likely one of the stupidest things he'd
ever said. The year would have been about 1978 or 79 and he said he was going
to "wait until next year" to buy a computer as he was sure the prices would
start to come down by then.
