View Full Version : found my sister that I had not seen in over 40 years!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I have not posted here in a while, but I did want to let some people
know that I have finally found all of my siblings. There were eight of
us, two have passed away, and we were told that this sister that we were
looking for had passed away. Noone in my family really believed it, but
that is what they were told.
They lost contact about 20 years ago.

I have been able to talk to her, she continues to live in the same
state, and she seems happy to be found. She also had been looking for
us, but could not find anyone with the last names that she had at the
time.

She and my mother (who had actually begun to believe that she just might
be dead and was grieving for her) have finally talked to each other
after over 20 years, and so have my sisters. I have also been able to
talk to her and she for now, has been able to talk easily to me. She
appears to be happy and though she has had a lot of problems in the
past, she appears to have dealt with them.

You know, I started looking for my original family in 1977 and finally,
all of them have been found.

I am so very happy, I just wanted to share my good news with some of the
people that I know here.

Congratulations.
I don't know you, but it's nice to hear a good outcome once in a while.
Take care.

much happiness in finding your family as have in finding mine and it
looks as though you will.

Hi Robin,

I know you do understand. I am hoping that this reunion brings hope and
peace to my family and for me. Thank you for knowing just what it really
means to me.
By the way, thank you for the incentive to do all of this. I emailed you
several months ago about whether I should even try to reunite with my
mother after so many years and you told me to go ahead and just see what
happens. Now I have reunited not only with my mother, several of my
siblings, and was able to find this one last sibling who everyone had
been told that she had passed away. Thank you, Robin, for knowing that I
could do this.

I'm fine thanks, though still out of work (and enjoying it). I got a letter
from my bmom a couple of weeks ago with a picture of my half-bro, his new
wife and my grandparents. That was extremely special.

Best of luck! :)

Oh, absolutely. In fact, I owe her a letter - I was going to wait until
after my SIL's Halloween party as I'm sure we'll have some great pictures
from that (We're going as a vampire family) ;)

Thats great Robyn. Lack of communication ruined my relationship and good that
you have it. Sounds like your going to have a fun Halloween. A holiday that
brings neighbors, family, and friends together for fun and treats and nobody
even has to cook...one of my favorites. Kathy J

It's sporadic, but steady - on both our parts. Which is just fine.

Thank you, Julia. Yes, it certainly has been a very long journey. I am
still so very happy about this. I know it does not change a lot of
things about myself, (finding her) but maybe, just maybe it will help my
mother to know where all her children are, and let her have the peace
that she deserves in her life.

Congratulations on the owing the letter part. I remember it was a
nice feeling when I wasn't the one (which was rare in my case) eagerly
waiting.

I hope everyone has a fun Halloween. :) A family of vamps? Is there a
junior Buffy in the making, lol. My little girl has two costumes this
season and has already worn both as we've had a few Halloween
activities already. She has been a pumpkin and a fuzzy green
alligator. I think tonight she will be the pumpkin because here in
Alabama it is still so HOT (YUK YUK YUK) that I have to opt for the
coolest outfit. I am hopelessly sick of summer clothes.

We did, thanks, and the kid's got a ton of candy (most of which I'll
probably be tossing in about three months).

Cute! My daughter just had the one costume, but between school, girl
scouts, a birthday and a Halloween party, she ended up wearing it five
times!

I think tonight she will be the pumpkin because here in Alabama it is still so HOT (YUK YUK YUK) that I have to opt for the coolest outfit. I am hopelessly sick of summer clothes.

It was actually quite warm up here in NJ yesterday - Think it made it to the
low 70s.
