1) What is my chance of getting a job in Aussie? If less than 50%
chance then what is the alternative job which I can do there to
support my family? [banking teaching etc., what may the salary range]
2) Any website or agency which can take care of my PR processing under
200$ [apart from visa fees] .
3) what may be my total expence till i get a job in Aussie?

Thanks a lot,

Do some searches here and you will find the market is tough. there are
jobs going but there are way more applicants. Lots of companies laying
off and oursourcing to India.

For the rest do some searches here and you will find answers. Any agency
chargin under $200 is either a charity or very cheap for a reason
(probably because they are cowboys).

It depends on how 'the d**kheads of Oz' interpret your skills.

Here is an example of a recent job ad in the engineering sector:

http://www.seek.com.au/users/viewdetails.asp?Action=jobsearch&JobListAction=ViewOneAd&JobSearch=true&AdID=3025079

--------------------------------------------------

Process Engineer
Chemical
Mechanical

The Organisation

A medium sized conultant that has been successful in winning it's market
share of work in the civl and structural engineering industry.
b>The Opportunity
The successful candidate will have the chance to further develop their
management skills within a secure, productive and professional environment
alongside highly respected engineers and drafting staff. As the Drafting
Manager you will be able to pass on your extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and
structural design skills to 10+ draftsmen.

Managing the drafting team with relation to workload programming.

Controlling drafting related project budgets.

Controlling timeframes relating to projects.

Training staff in technical aspects of Strucutral/Civil discipline.

Taking overall responsibility of drafting staff in the NSW office.

Checking drawings for technical correctness.

Managing CAD Systems (i.e. workstations / ongoing trouble shooting).

Ensuring staff adhere to national drafting standards & practices.

Assist drafting staff with hardware/software related problems.

Hiring of additional drafting staff (Staff & Contract) in accordance with
company procedures on staff hiring.

Checking drafting output for Cad standard compliance.

Provide input to National Cad Manager in relation to ongoing Cad research &
development.

Assist management with their ongoing day to day requirements.

<snip>
--------------------------------------------

It seems that in Australia Chemical/Process engineers manage
Civil/Structural drafting personnel.

Remember that its going to take you at least a year, going by current
standards. to get your PR after you apply for it. The job market is not
going to stay static all this time. It will be a mistake to base your PR
application on the current state of the job market.

Just to illustrate what I'm rambling about, IT was fast-tracked about 18
months back when I applied, and it was fairly easy to get a job there.
By the time my PR came through a couple of months back, things have
changed significantly and I can't even land a job with a PR and over 6
years of Unix/C experience.

Not that its going to stop me from moving to Australia, because my
decision to apply for PR was based on "quality-of-life" considerations,
even if it means a radical shift in career.

Have a good look at what they offer. For that amount, it will
only be prefab templates. You'll have to do all the work yourself,
they'll just give you some pointers how to do it. They seem to offer 30
minutes free consultation over the phone to discuss your details,
anything after that you're bound to pay for. If your case is
straightforward, it might be worth it as it will save you some time.
However, you can also find out yourself most of what they'll tell you if
you're willing to do some research, for example on this forum, and save
that $195. If your case is not straightforward and requires more than
standard templates and 30 minutes consultation, they will charge you for
additional help, they're not a charity...
