We received a favorable decision from the MRT in early August. THe
case was referred back to the embassy for settlign the remaining
issues which should be only health and criminal check.

We have completed the health checkup and have started the process for
criminal check with fbi.

We have been waiting for 8 weeks to hear from the embassy, but they
have not contacted us at all.

We've tried calling, emailing, faxing, but they simply do not respond.

Any experience with dealing with the embassy in washington? Length of
wait? Suggestions for who to contact??

Help!!

Thanks in advance,

Jamie

You should probably consider hiring a migration agent to help you with
following things up with the Embassy. Did you use an agent for your
MRT appeal?

Jeremy,

We did hire a lawyer for the appeal and he was very helpful. We saw
him afterwards and he said that it was now just a matter of getting
the background check, medicals, and being patient.

Since the major issue of the case has been decided, how might a
migration agent help? Can they help you get through the red tape? I
know we would be more than happy to pay if we knew that they could
help speed up the process.
