How would we know? Do you not have an attorney?

Silly me for asking if you knew what a Case Management Conference was. I thought this was a board of discussion and the majority of the folks here have gone through some type of court process. I guess I was wrong. :D

The majority of the posters here are experienced HR and payroll professionals. I also noticed that no one else attempted responding.

Why would you think that everyone posting here had been through the court process? YOU hadn't, or you wouldn't be asking the question.

And as a matter of fact, this is not a chat room for discussions. It is a forum for asking general questions about employment and labor law.

Never having practiced law in TN nor participated in any litigation in TN, I will nonetheless take a shot.

I shall presume you are the plaintiff and have sued your employer. It appears that your employer, a/k/a the Defendant or "Deft," has filed a motion to continue, or in effect postpone until a later date, a pre-trial conference. In most, if not all jurisdictions, courts set up pre-trial conferences to handle discovery matters and to promote a settlement as opposed to the expensive and cumbersome process of proceeding to trial. It is my guess that you and your employer had a definitive date for the Case Management Conference, but now either the employer or more likely the employer's counsel cannot attend.

Might I add that if you do not have your own representation, then I cannot more strongly advise you to seek it now ... then he/she can answer all your questions.

My sincere and deep apologies for assuming that everyone has gone through the court process. When I saw labor law talk site, I just assumed that it was a forum of info which takes you through the processes, etc. I thought my question was a general question.

I'm a little confused how you reached the conclusion that a site for labor and employment law was for the purpose of guiding you through the court system. I'm afraid I'm not seeing the connection. But your apology is accepted. ;)
