Nelson Promoting Adoption

OMAHA, Neb. -- You don't need to be perfect to be the perfect adoptive parent.

Sen. Ben Nelson, the father of two adopted children, is promoting a new federal
adoption awareness campaign. He said Monday that half a million children are in
the foster care program in the U.S. Nearly 130,000 kids are waiting to be
adopted.

Willa Moss appeared with Nelson in Omaha Monday. She adopted her son, Donnell,
a couple of years ago. She said that going through the adoption process is not
big deal.

"Every child has a need to be wanted, to be guided, to be nurtured. And, I
certainly love him. And I didn't have any problem with the transition at all,"
Moss said.
