We are part owners of some property and would like to divide up our part from the other owner. No one owns 1 particular acre. Would it be a big deal to do this ourselves? If we do decide to do this, what do we need to watch out for? Is there any steps that we need to take before and after filing? I have heard if everyone(the other party) is not in agreement with the dividing, the judge more then likely will force the sale. If you own more of the land, does it give you more power? Thank you for any advice.:)

You need to consult a local attorney experienced with partition proceedings. No one on here can really tell you anything because it will depend on the situation, the land and if the land can be divided.
